Tips & care advice

Our bathroom furniture:

  • The dimensions between the screw holes of the handles are standard, so you can easily change these to other handles if you wish.
  • The furniture except the very smallest is assembled from us
  • Soft closing drawers and doors are standard
  • We work with 3 different surface finishes. Real wood veneer, 4 times lacquered surface or quality foil

Tips and things to consider

Choose the right water trap – There are many different types of water traps and it is not at all certain that the one you buy will fit our products. Therefore, choose a low-built water trap or buy our water trap to be sure when installing.

Choose the right mixer tap – When choosing a low washbasin, keep in mind that the mixers have different degrees of ejection. If you have high water pressure and the mixer throws the water forwards, you should instead choose a mixer that throws the water downwards.

Choice of lighting – Is there another light source in the room? Do you need mood lighting or bright lighting?

IP rating – For electrical equipment in harsh environments, where moisture and water can enter, good enclosure is of utmost importance. Different zones in the bathroom need different enclosure classes, this is called IP rating. Check more with your electrician.

Wall mounting – If you are building a new house, remember to adjust the height of the studs in the wall to screw heavier products. Then always use anchor screws specially designed for your particular wall material. What height is the furniture screwed? Of course, you decide the height at which you choose to mount the products, but the standard height for washbasin cabinets is 850 mm from the floor to the top of the washbasin.

Electrical outlet in drawer – Installing electrical outlets in boxes is often a good functional solution.

Oak worktop – If you use oak worktops, you should oil them regularly to avoid water damage. At the first oiling, the worktop should be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper. The oak worktop from us is only primed with oil.

Cleaning services

Clean with a damp cloth, using mild detergents if necessary. Avoid abrasive agents, acids and ammonia. Our furniture is equipped with water-repellent materials, however, it cannot withstand direct contact with water for a long time. When installing near a bath or shower, use a bath screen, shower screen or other screen.

Our sinks:

Porcelain is a beautiful earthenware with a hard glazed surface. Porcelain is a "living" material and therefore has tolerances. No two porcelain sinks are exactly alike.

Tips

Keep in mind that some porcelain does not have an overflow drain, so-called overfill protection, so make sure that the bottom valve is available with or without an overflow drain.

Porcelain washbasin

Porcelain is a beautiful earthenware with a hard glazed surface. Porcelain is a "living" material that therefore has tolerances in itself. Use a soft cloth and a cleaning agent with a PH value below 8. For general discolouration, use citric acid. For lime stains, use 45-55% vinegar, rub in with a soft cloth, wait a while and then rinse off. Avoid all abrasive agents, acids and scouring agents.

Concrete washbasin

Concrete is a rustic material with natural variations in colour and surface. The inside of the washbasin is sealed to close pores and make the surface more resistant to stains. Follow the recommendations of your chosen product. Wipe off water drops with a soft cloth after use to avoid limescale build-up. Standing water may cause dark spots, which will disappear after a few hours once the water has been removed. Do not expose the washbasin to water with a temperature higher than 60°C or rapid temperature changes. Clean the sink with a damp cloth and possibly a little diluted washing-up liquid. Avoid detergents and products containing abrasives, acids, ammonia, acetone or other chemicals (such as scouring powder, hairspray, hair colour, bleach, hair remover, nail polish remover, etc.) Should any of the above substances end up on the sink, they should be removed immediately to avoid damage.

Our shower enclosures:

  • Made of tempered safety glass
  • Showers with castors always contain a spring load and ball bearings
  • The showers are equipped with high-quality magnetic strips for tight closure
  • All shower walls can handle pipework up to 35 mm. Fixed shower enclosures must have accessories for this.

Tips

  • If the floor has too little slope, you can buy skirting boards to prevent water from running off
  • When installing a fixed shower enclosure, Frost DV and you have external pipes that must be pulled through the wall profile, there is a pipe pulling profile to buy
  • Be very careful to have the wall profiles plumb when installing, this makes it easier to adjust the shower

For easier maintenance, car wax can be used on the interior glass 1-3 times a year. Car wax has a draining effect and thus prevents limescale stains. For limescale stains, use 45-55% vinegar, rub in with a soft cloth, wait a while and then rinse off. For general discolouration, use citric acid. The profiles are easily scratched as they are made of aluminium, so use a soft cloth and avoid all kinds of abrasives.

Our bathtubs:

Our beautiful bathtubs are made of cast marble, sanitary acrylic or enamel.

  • What characterises cast marble is that it keeps heat longer and is a dimensionally stable material
  • Sanitary acrylic is a material that is durable and easy to clean
  • Enamel bathtubs are made from moulded steel which is then enamelled to give it its hard surface that is so practical
  • All baths come with bottom valves and drainpipes

Tips

Be sure to adjust the feet of the bathtub to avoid problems when it is loaded. If cleaning under the bath is important to you, then it should be a lighter bath or half-front bath. If you want to combine your bathtub with a shower, remember that there are great solutions for glass screens.

Cleaning services

Bath in sanitary acrylicClean with a damp cloth or very mild detergent. If you want a nice shine, use polish or non-abrasive car wax. If you repeat this regularly, you will get a very fine surface. Never use acids, ammonia, strong detergents, abrasives or caustic soda. Remember that using sharp objects in acrylic bathtubs can damage the surface.

Cast marble bathtub

Cast marble has a protective film called a gel coat. As long as this film remains intact, you will have a beautiful material. Therefore, clean with a damp cloth or very mild detergent. If you want a nice shine, use a non-abrasive polish or car wax. If you repeat this regularly, you will get a very fine surface. Never use acids, ammonia, strong detergents, abrasives or caustic soda. Remember that using sharp objects in cast marble sinks and baths can damage the surface.

Badkar and emalj

Enamel has a glazed surface that you keep clean with a mild detergent. Citric acid removes discolouration, vinegar removes limescale stains. Heat the vinegar to 40-50 degrees, rub it in and let it work before rinsing. Sometimes this needs to be repeated for more severe stains. Never use strong acids, ammonia, strong detergents, abrasives or caustic soda.
